Agreeing to these terms
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Kavion Solutions (“we”, “us”), which makes and runs DigiSafe. By creating an account or using DigiSafe, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
You must be 18 or older to use DigiSafe. If you don’t agree to these Terms, please don’t use it.
What DigiSafe is
DigiSafe is a free app for keeping your own copies of important documents, such as identity cards, certificates and bills. Documents are encrypted on your device before they are stored, and synced to your other devices.
- DigiSafe is independent. It is not a government service and is not connected to any government body.
- A copy stored in DigiSafe is not an official or verified document. Offices may still ask for the original.
- Document checklists and numbers read from your documents are there to help, but they can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important before you rely on it.
Your account
- Give your real name and an email address that you can open.
- An account is for one person. Don’t share it or sign in as someone else.
- You are responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us if you think someone else has got into it.
Keeping your password and PIN safe
Your password and PIN are the keys to your vault. We never see them and can’t reset them for you in a way that opens your documents.
- Choose a strong password you don’t use anywhere else, and keep it private.
- If you forget your PIN, you can set a new one with your password.
- Keep your devices protected with a screen lock, and lock the vault when you’re done.
Lost both? Your documents are gone.
Your documents stay yours
Everything you add to DigiSafe belongs to you. We don’t claim any rights over it. You only give us permission to store, copy and transfer the encrypted versions as needed to run the service for you, for example to sync your devices or deliver a share link you create.
You must have the right to store what you add. When you share a document by link or in a family folder, you decide who gets it. Once someone has opened or downloaded it, we can’t take it back from them.
Acceptable use
When you use DigiSafe, please don’t:
- break the law, or store or share anything illegal;
- create, store or share forged or altered documents to deceive anyone;
- store or share other people’s documents without their permission;
- try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren’t yours, or test for weaknesses without our written permission;
- overload, disrupt or scrape the service, or use bots or scripts to create accounts or send requests;
- copy, resell or pass off DigiSafe as your own service;
- use share links or family folders to harass or harm anyone.
A free service, provided as is
DigiSafe is free. We work hard to keep it secure and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without promises that it will always work, be error-free, or suit a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.
DigiSafe is not a guarantee that a document will be kept forever. Keep the originals of important documents, and download a copy of your data from Account from time to time.
Changes and availability
We may change, add or remove features, and the service may sometimes be unavailable, for example for maintenance. If we decide to close DigiSafe, we will give reasonable notice where we can, so you have time to download your data.
Ending your account
You can stop using DigiSafe and delete your account at any time in Account. Deleting it removes your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms or the law, or to protect other people or the service. Where it is safe and lawful, we will tell you first and give you a chance to download your data.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost opportunities or data, or for losses caused by a forgotten password and PIN, a device you lost or left unlocked, or links you shared;
- our total liability to you for any claim about DigiSafe is limited to one thousand Indian rupees (INR 1,000).
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we change the date at the top, and for changes you need to agree to, the app asks you to accept the new version before you carry on. If you don’t agree, you can download your data and delete your account.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over disputes about them. If you live in another country, you keep any protections its consumer laws give you that can’t be changed by agreement.
